Size guide

Choosing The Right Size

As a rule of thumb, a single framed piece should fill about two thirds of the wall space above a sofa, bed or console. For a gallery wall, leave 5 to 8 cm between frames and treat the group as one shape.

Hanging & Proportion

How high should I hang a frame?

Centre the artwork at eye level, roughly 145 to 150 cm from the floor to the middle of the piece. Above furniture, leave 15 to 20 cm between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame.

What size works above a sofa?

Aim for a piece around two thirds the width of the sofa. For a three-seater, that usually means a 20 × 24 in piece, or a pair of 16 × 20 in frames.

Do the sizes include the frame?

The size refers to the printed artwork. The frame adds roughly 2 to 4 cm on each side depending on the moulding.
